Motuo ne owuondo manumu

Translation:
The dry deceived the raw one
Postproverbial:
Manumu ne owuondo motuo
Translation:
The raw one deceived the dry one
Comments:
In the traditional proverb, the “dry” refers to someone with prowess while the “raw” refers to someone who lacks experience. The beginner, being ignorant, could be easily deceived by the experienced. In the postproverbial, the raw is the young who is more “knowledgeable” than the old (in the age of modernity). By extension, raw firewood will not burn easily when used to cook and thus it might deceive the dry one which will easily perish in the fire
