Mwetereri arĩaga,ya mũgwatio/ciahoha

Translation:
One who is patient eats the best or mature food
Postproverbial:
Mwetereri arĩaga, horu
Translation:
One who is patient eats cold or rotten food
Comments:
The traditional proverb and the postproverbial differ in their conception of patience. While patience is a cherished virtue in the traditional proverb, it is not so regarded in the postproverbial. This is so because realistically, it is taken as positive delay that will cause cooling and rotting of food, diminish its quality and make it unpalatable.
